From information to training: the didactic side of the media

Summary/Abstract: The paper discusses the didactic dimension of media discourse, emphasizing the special relationship that connects knowledge to formation, through the information. We suggest that the structural procedures that are behind the media informative discourse (as a special type of discourse) share several features with the didactic discourse, and we mainly focus on the expla-natory structures. We develop some theoretical models, among which Beacco’s concept of discursive community, showing that media play an important part in those communities, either outside them, as a key transmission factor, or inside, prolonging the emerging information to the general public.
