MIKEL DUFRENNE. THE BACKGROUND, PRINCIPLE OF THE BEGINNING

Summary/Abstract: The study discusses two of the main aspects of Dufrenneřs researches concerning the problem of the poetic and the phenomenology of the esthetic experience: the background (Grund) as the basic principle of the beginning, and the synthesis between intuition and imagination. The first aspect points out the background as the unapparent source of the poetic images, an inner nature that reveals itself through images and proposes the world of the poem. A world that begins with the possibility of signifying and appearing, understood as a seminal principle of the poetic existence. As for the second aspect, the imagination makes visible things that appear only in this horizon, but together with the so called empty intuitions. That what they present is a visible pre-real, a world of the pre-formal where images are signifying before being.
