Summary/Abstract: The paper discusses the way in which Jean Burgos understands the status of the poetic image. Firstly, the image shows something else that is given in the common world, a new apparition as a distance concerning both the exterior worldly phenomena and the poetic ones met in other texts. It is the phenomenon of the unique image, not the exclusive one, but the singular one, a much more that helps us to see further.Secondly, in order to perceive truly, the comprehension must see otherwise. The image opens a new horizon, a changed perspective; it becomes available to other, unknown dimensions. That means that these two aspects of deviation, that of the representation and that of the reference, are a legitimate foundation of the so called poetics of the image.
