Summary/Abstract: The main conditions which determine the affirmation of the novel narrative model, namely the existence of the elements of the triad author - hero - reader were emerging at the end of the third decade of the nineteenth century, when the Romanians began to communicate with the world and to communicate among themselves following a process of selfidentification, surpassing their strict local and provincial condition realizing that they are Romanians, moreover, Latin. The main problem of the novelřs identity is related to the mutual relationship between the act of creation and that of reception.
