Summary/Abstract: The literary character is a representation within the coordinates of the novel space. Obviously, we should make the difference between the character from the outside world of the novel, the character as a representation inside the space of the novel, and the psychological and or the historical character. The literary character generates the narrative substance and, as a representation, this character defines his or her identity by meeting the „other” who stands for his or her alterity within the fictional space. The character’s look helps us reveal his or her inner/outer side.
