Summary/Abstract: There are few non-versified South-Slavonic Prologues. They include the Prologue which is kept at the National Library of Serbia, signature Pc 705, known also as the Prologue of Ljubomir Kovačević. The Prologue was written about the middle of the 14th century and is very close in composition, orthographic and linguistic particularities to another Middle Bulgarian Prologue known in science as the Stanislavov or Lesnovski Prologue of 1330. The two Prologues are interesting for the readings on Slav saints which are published in full in the article. The texts on the Slav saints in 12 South-Slavonic Prologues are examined and it is concluded that one cannot speak about some ancient common system which was in operation at the introduction of the Slavonic element in the non-versified Prologue. After analysing the readings on the Slav and the Russian saints in particular, the conclusion is drawn that VI. Moshin’s view that a Russian Slavonic layer was introduced in the Prologue already at its translation is unacceptable. Despite its relatively stable composition, the Prologue has not been accepted as a hard set structure. The troparia in it (originally without a Slavonic element), the body of the readings on the Slav saints, and later the lessons, are textual phenomena of subsequent appearance.
