Summary/Abstract: This paper aims the characterization of Northeast area of Romania and highlight its tourism cultural and religious potential. So the emergence of tourism, and especially the religious of the Nord-Est, is largely linked to the existence of monasteries, hermitages and the faithful pilgrimages to these buildings. Culture and tourism are considered to be important factors not only in stimulating the regional economy but at the same time, there are a number of other effects. Tourism has long been considered as a way to provide jobs, especially in areas where there are few other options. Meanwhile tourism development related to culture made that it is intended to provide income to support cultural institutions . Consumers also should be aware of regional tourism regional specificity . The North- East of Romania is one of the richest in monasteries, convents, churches, etc. Tourists interested in culture and for our case, the religious aspect of it, should (or is expected ) to visit destinations that many tourists do not usually go . It thus contributes to the expansion of tourism in the region and new spaces resisting therefore not ensuring constant presence of seasonal tourism process. A boost is given where local culture, especially in small towns, people know and assume their identity and cultural legacy preserved. Thus, it encourages people from these communities to enhance and preserve local culture, posing a renewed sense of pride for the community. This is a factor that induces a number of jurisdictions to develop programs to improve cultural awareness and interest in heritage conservation within the local population in Nord-East Romania.
