Summary/Abstract: At the beginning of the 20th century, the nationalism promoted by the political power holders, the expansionist projects, the influence the Great Powers, which where interested in the area, transformed the Balkans into a field of ethnic conflicts. The question of Southern Albania, or northern Epirus was one of many delicate issues at the beginning of the First World War, since this region has a geostrategical significance at the moment. Our study tries to present the argumentations, the ideologies and the strategies developed by the major state actors involved in the question of establishing the borders between Greece and the newly created state of Albania in 1914.
