Regional Capital Fund – conceptual approach

Summary/Abstract: The decade of National Capital Fund’s (NCF) functioning did not result in satisfactory effects (17 capital funds (CF) of venture capital type were created and supported by 111 innovation projects at a relatively low usage of aid means obtained by NCF and CF). In these circumstances it seems justified to develop the concept of Regional Capital Funds, which can be established based on the financial participation of the National Capital Fund and which can stimulate its activities. Such a trend remains a part of the discussion presented in the hereby article. Its content presents the mission, the idea and the field of investment focus of the Regional Capital Funds, as well as their financing sources, along with the support forms of these units by the National Capital Fund, the rules for collecting, placing and investing RCF means and their division from the finalized investments. The presentation of tasks covered by regional venture capital funds (RCF) was considered the natural punch line of the discussion.
