LOCAL (REGIONAL) GOVERNMENT BRANCH LIST PROPOSITION

Summary/Abstract: The proposition of census was based on article 7 of Statute of archival mate­rial's valuation and selection (NN 90/2002). The census is a list of all types of material with keeping deadlines related to the material created or gained by preforming certain activity or business. These regulations are made by Croatian Archival Concil at the proposition of Croatian State Archive. The material that contains the census is divided among the material that has permanent value due to its content or form, thus defined as valuable for certain profession, activity, area, culture or history of certain period or place. The material that is not evaluated in such manner is defined as a registry material and has the deadline set according to the regulations. The procedure that comes before it is material's evaluation and several criteria are taken into consideration: importance of creator/owner of the material, its supervision and range of work and finally the value of material as a result of activity itself and history of certain area and time period. While creating this proposition available lists of materials have been used, as well as legal solutions, lists of material of individual owners, existing classification plans and expert opinions.
