CULTURAL AND PUBLISHING ACTIVITIES OF ARCHIVE TUZLA CANTON (1954th-2009th)

Summary/Abstract: The employees of the Archive of Tuzla Canton have met, in 55 years of work this institution has behind it, numerous difficulties in preforming their duties. Most of them were objective, systematic as lack of adequate legislation, bad financial state, inadequate archival space, lack of needed equipment, etc. However, even in these conditions the task of accepting and taking care for archival fonds and collections was successfully preformed, even during the war (agression) that leads to definite conclusion how relevant this institution is as cultural and scientific basis in Bosnia and Herzegovina. On the other hand, thanks to the enthusiasm of employees a relationship with broader community has been formed and the community is informed about the work our Archive preforms by exibitions, publications, lectures, cooperation with schools and medias, etc. This is clearly evident in the fact that the Archive is leading cultural institution in Tuzla Canton, as well as Bosnia and Herzegovina, and it has a vast network of cooperants among similar institutions in country and abroad.
