ДИСКУСИЯТА ЗА ПРАВОТО НА ЕВТАНАЗИЯ
THE DISCUSSION ABOUT THE RIGHT OF EUTHANASIA

Summary/Abstract: The discussion about the right of euthanasia is analysed pointing its moral, ethic, religious and other aspects. A short historic review is made and a systematic law analysis of the problem in countries members of EU, countries non- members of EU, United States and Australia and also the main terms used- voluntary and non- voluntary euthanasia, active an passive euthanasia, palliative care etc. A short review of Bulgarian law is made which at present, excludes euthanasia as a legal method of ending anyone’s life and also is distinguished from other lawful institutions in the Bulgarian Criminal Code and the Law about Public Health. The project of Euthanasia Law which was discussed by the 41st National Assembly of Bulgaria and rejected as being not suitable to social and religious visions of citizens. At the end is concluded that in the future a more profound discussion should be held if such a law should be adopted.
