Summary/Abstract: The report is about the classical type of ombudsman, its powers and main principles of activities connected with control upon administration, parallel to those of “hybrid ombudsman” who is engaged with protection of human rights also. In Bulgaria, in 2012, reforming the Ombudsman figure, it became а National Protection Mechanism according to Convention against Torture and other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment. Thus it is converging into the “hybrid type” and the changes into the Law оf Ombudsman 2018 are moving it to the International class A.
