Summary/Abstract: Ethnical structure of population of Bosnia and Herzegovina and community of Gracanica in the period between 1961-1991 was different. This was due to the different declaration of population on different lists. In Bosnia and Herzegovina the percentage of Bosnians increased from 25,7% in 1961 to 43,3% in 1991. The percantage of Serbians decreased from 42,9% in 1961 to 31,2% in 1991. The percentage of Croatians was also decreased from 21,7% in 1961to17,4% in 1991. During the whole period the Bosnians represented the majority of population in the community of Gracanica, 66,5% in 1961 and 72, 1 % in 1991. On the second place according to the percentage come Serbians, 30,6% in 1961 and 22,9% in 1991. On the third place come Yugoslavian, 2% in 1961 and 2,6% in 1991. We can notice that there is the decreased number of Serbians, Croatians and Yugoslavian and increased number of Muslim population that is Bosnians from the period of 1961. This happened as a consequence of ethnical declaration which was provided to Bosnian population.
