Summary/Abstract: Since the beginning of 1992. mass forced migrations happened all around Bosnia and Herzegovina. Huge numbers of refugees came to Tuzla as well. Number of refugees located in Tuzfa Municipality increased every day and at the end of 1992. amounted 50.615 refugees. Largest part of refugee population have been children (35,45%) and women (59%), while males between 18 to 60 years were smallest part (1,67%). According to data from Office of refugees and displaced, there were 79.200 refugees in the Tuzla Municipality during 1993.After the war, at the beginning of 1996., there were 56.243 refugees in the Municipality, of which most numerous were children below age of 18 years (43,75%) and women (37,35%), while males aged 18-60 again had lowest numbers (15,77%). After Deyton peace had been signed return of refugees to their pre-war homes started, so number of refugees during postwar period significantly dropped. Process of returning was especially significant during year 2000. when number of refugees in Tuzla amounted to 23.244, and continued to decrease, so 2005. evidence shows 7.480 refugees. ft is important to point out that smaller number of refugees does not always mean that they returned to their pre-war estates, because large number of them decided to stay in Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina or they left the country, an act by which they lost their refugee.
