Kinship and Family Structures. An Insider’s View

Summary/Abstract: The article concerns the institution of relationship and family based on the own lineal and family memory. It‘s been pared attention to the horizontal and vertical consistence of the lineal geneologies. In accordance to their reconstruction a direct family recollection (formed as a result of a direct contact with the respective relative) and indirect family recollection (formed as a result of a third persons telling of the relative) are being observed. It has also been distinguished an ideal (includes all the possible relatives) and a real relationship (includes only those of the relatives with whom possitive and negative bearings are sustained). The real related group is a dinamic one – it changes itself. Different factors exert influence on – place of residence, migrations, restitution of the land. Relationship could be emotional or instrumental but a strict distinction could be hardly determined. Family structures are considered to be a dynamic, changing category. Their usual classification as nuclear and complex is not problemless. In accordance to that it‘s been taken into consideration the different factors‘ influence – presence/absence of sufficient inhabitable space; different institutions and their defects (a day nursery; pension security etc.). Special attention is payed to the specific economical relations, formed on the base of family structures and especially on the household „village-city“. The usage of a such research is it‘s possibility to be corrective for the different macromodels. On the other hand the discussing problem leads to many new and interesting questions and stimulates further scientific researches.
