Longing for a past time: Yugo-nostalgia versus Tito-nostalgia. The case of Albanians from Macedonia

Summary/Abstract: The main aim of the article is studying the memories and perceptions of the Yugoslavian times among Albanians in the Republic of Macedonia. The nostalgia about these past times exists, but because of many reasons which are described in the text, Albanian nostalgia is different. Terminologically this longing could be called “Tito-nostalgia”, instead of more widespread in academic studies and public space term “Yugo-nostalgia”. The analysis in the article proceeds from the assumption that the nostalgia forms reaction to the present state and simultaneously turns the attention into aspirations, expectations and vision for the future.
