Summary/Abstract: The article The Reception of the Second Vatican Council Teaching on the Sacrements in Canon 840 (1983 CIC). An Outline presents the formal reception, that is the way in which the theological-pastoral postulates contained in the Vatican II documents were translated into the language of the provisions of law. The article also points to the relationship between the teaching on the sacraments in Vatican II and in canon 840 (1983 CIC). The documents produced by the Second Vatican Council and the conciliar doctrine on the sacraments were analyzed and characterised. The last part of the article analyzes the canon 840, which is a testimony of the renewal of laws concerning the sacraments in the spirit of Vatican II.
