Summary/Abstract: In the article the author presents the scope of legal protection of a Polish consumer in the context of the prohibition of the use of abusive clauses. The aim of the article is to show the implementation of consumer safety in the face of unlawful provisions in the model contract used by the entrepreneurs and security measures. The paper notes that the scope of protection for the consumer in Polish legal system was influenced by the implementation of Council Directive 93/13/EEC of 5 April 1993 on unfair terms in consumer contracts. Following, the author shows Polish legal acts that take into consideration unfair contract terms and measures to eliminate the consequences of the use of such. The article bases mostly on commentaries to laws, especially to Polish civil code. Descriptive andanalytical method was used.
