Summary/Abstract: One of the biggest challenges today is increasing social mobility and the related cultural pluralism. At present, Poland is a homogeneous country. It does not face difficulties associated with the integration of large migrant populations, which is a growing problem in countries such as France or Germany. However, it should be expected that this will change. Everything points to the fact that we live in increasingly ethnically and culturally diverse communities. Poland should therefore prepare itself for this new situation and learn from the experiences of other countries.Australia is an example of a relatively young and well-functioning multicultural society, which can serve as a reference in the search for strategies to cope with growing social diversity. This article describes the process of the gradual formation of a multicultural society in Australia from the early twentieth century to the present. It outlines the characteristics of multicultural integration, upon which migration policy in Australia is based. It tries to answer the question of the extent to which the evolution of Australian society and the model of multicultural integration can help and inspire Poland in times of migration crisis.
