Summary/Abstract: The main theoretical elaborations on migration pressure have been analyzed in this article. Its author’s definition has been offered and are discussed the possibilities for its study and forecasting. Because of the difficulty in collecting data on the migration potential and migration mobility in the countries of origin, is included the option through the use of various sociological approaches concerning migrants who have successfully crossed the state border, to collect data that allow objective assessment of the migration potential in countries of origin and future migration pressure on Bulgaria.
