Summary/Abstract: By the Law no. 84/2007 the Government Emergency Order no. 85/2006 was approved as amended, published in "Official Gazette” no.926/15.11.2006. This regulation lays down the ways of evaluation of the damages caused to forest vegetation in forests and outside them, aiming to ensure the sustainable management of forests and development of a multifunctional long term forestry, in order to meet the needs of society as well as the accomplishment of the “Forestry Action Plan of the European Union” drawn up for the period 2007-2011
