Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes evolution of dilettantism as a special social phenomenon: from professionals of the twentieth century to modern professional amateurs. Described is the new social hybrid — connected by a network knowing, educated and responsible amateurs who work according to professional standards. It is shown how new influential force changes our economy and culture, consumption and production, leisure and work, individual lifestyle and society in general. The special attention is paid to problems of conceptualization of a Pro-Am revolution phenomenon and its perspectives.
