Summary/Abstract: This paper analyzes legal regulation of the status and activities of Islamic financial institutions worldwide. We treat Islamic financial law as an independent branch of Islamic law (fiqh) and attempt to construct its basic principles. We also specify those subsections of Islamic financial law which require study in the first place.
