Summary/Abstract: Present state of affairs regarding protection of registry material made by legal institutions must be changed in a way to create all necessary conditions so this valuable written cultural heritage could be preserved. Therefore following should be done:- in accordance with established legal procedure all courts must completeand clean their registry material;- courts must provide conditions for storage of material, as well as puttingspecial employee to manage registry material;- in accordance with established legal procedure archival material of closedcourts, and material older then 30 years must be passed to the archive, which would create better conditions for preservation of the material;- establish a unique system of office and archival activities that wouldallow complete and efficient preservation and management of registry material;- courts must be open for cooperation with archives regarding protection ofregistry material.These objectives would end negative practice that occurred so far in Bosnia and Herzegovina regarding the system of protecting archival material of legal provenance as valuable cultural and historic heritage, and as evidence. Therefore important task of makers and archives is to preserve and protect this type of archival material.
