Summary/Abstract: The stable development of rural areas is a priority for the Common Agricultural Policy of the European Union. The localization of investments in Bulgarian agriculture can be seen as a crossroads between European and national agricultural policy for the sustainable development of rural areas on the one hand, and the sustainable development of agricultural business on the other. Localizational choice is largely determined by mutual interest – what kind of benefits are provided for the companies from the relevant territory and what the benefits are for the territory from their business. The decision to localize or delocalize is part of a company's investment policy, which seeks an optimal combination between the location, the price of investments and funding opportunities, including national and European support.
