Summary/Abstract: The article is dedicated to the analysis of Irena Bučienė’s works. The plays directed by her and put on stage in the Lithuanian National Drama Theatre in the years 1970–1980 are examined. The article discusses the director’s repertoire, trends in direction, as well as her work with actors. The relevance of and the harsh public spirit found in her productions are highlighted.
