Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes the work of Elegijus Bukaitis, a Lithuanian choreographer of the elder generation, in the seventh through the ninth decades of the 20th century, highlighting the directional and choreographic principles of his plays, distinguishing E. Bukaitis’ reconstructions of classical choreography (A. Adam’s Giselle, P. Tchaikovsky‘s Swan Lake) and unique productions of classical ballet repertoires (P. Tchaikovsky‘s Nutcracker), as well as original creations using the music of Lithuanian composers (A. Rekašius’ Aistros, Aura, E. Balsys’ Eglė žalčių karalienė); the choreographer’s touch is evaluated in the context of Lithuanian ballet repertoires and choreographic works of the time.
