Summary/Abstract: This paper is dedicated to the discovery and archaeological description of new evidences of using products of organic materials in the Upper Paleolithic occupation layers of the Kapova cave (Southern Urals). The first residues of products made of organic materials (wood) were discovered in the Chamber of Signs during the expedition led by V.E. Shchelinsky in the 1980s. The traces of organic objects, although not wooden, were also found in the Dome Chamber. It is expected that these evidences will allow us to expand our knowledge about human activity in caves with wall paintings. A conclusion is made that it is too early to give any Interpretation of this discovery until the investigated area of the occupation layer is increased and the laboratory data are obtained.
