Summary/Abstract: Having studied the content of the articles from 12 newspapers of the Republic of Tatarstan, published in 2013–2014, we revealed the peculiarities of representation of migration inflow to the Republic and identified thematic priorities, typical patterns and methods of constructing the image of migrants. We proved the idea that the mass media (including newspapers) is a mediator of stereotypes and prejudice towards migrants, which are common in Russian society partially due to the predominance of “restrictive and repressive” migration discourse in the media.
