Summary/Abstract: Health policy is part of the common state policy. Essentially it is guided by clearly defined social goals, needs and interests – healthcare for the population in the long term. In our country, healthcare is one of the most discussed and problematic issues since the fall of socialism. The chaos in the health system has been widely disputed, but no functioning solutions have been found. Despite the introduction of new strategies, the system is still too slow, inefficient and expensive for most citizens. This research paper aims to identify and demonstrate a comparative analysis between how health policy in Bulgaria has become a tool to serve the private business interests and to what extent the values and its fundamental essence have been retained.
