Summary/Abstract: Health is the most valuable thing for every living creature. This is true for all times and societies, no matter of the established or dominant economic or social, fair or unfair system. Medicine is also an integral science – the most noble, Medicine is also an art, because its subject is the human and society’s health, regardless of market conditions, and so it was in the centuries. Every society needs medicine – and those who possess capital and also the others, who work for them, and unemployed people, children and the elderly. When people are healthy, they need prophylaxis; in case of illness they need adequate and prompt treatment. Originating from the ancient times the medicine is based on the principles of humanism. Naturally the first doctors who saw the need for special protection of the health of workers and the link between the harmful working conditions and the diseases of workers were doctors who nowadays are known as physicians – general practitioners.
