Summary/Abstract: This paper discusses about some forms of preventive protection of archival material at registry offices and archives. Analyzing a number of agents indicates the moisture as the largest and the most common causes of damage to archival material. Therefore, paper emphasis placed on elimination of moisture as the cause. This, of course, requires touches and other preventive measures. Considerations range from purely theoretical (as it should) to pragmatic solutions that are implemented in the Archives of Tuzla Canton
