Summary/Abstract: Revolution is a special case of social change at the times when alterations accelerate and often discharge in an unexpected way, even violently, thus influencing following paths of lives of the majority of the members of the society. Revolution could be described and analysed using quite diverse parameters and sources. The starting point has always been the dynamics of abrupt changes. It is reflected apparently in a relatively quick and substantial transformation of the value-worlds of people. There are public and hidden dimensions of the revolution. In the public sphere manifestation of change of the form of government, operation of social institutions, civic initiatives etc. will take place. These may be distrusted or even overruled by counter-revolutionary forces. The transformation of the value-normative system of the whole society takes place more invisibly. It may need years and even decades to form fully but is in principle quite an irreversible process. The Singing Revolution has largely changed value-constellations of the national groups in Estonia. Of these the so-called revolutionary values (justice, freedom, equality) have significantly changed their positions on value scales. The two different lingual-cultural groups in Estonia have also several other differences in transforming (through re-socialization) their value-worlds but they share the appearance of the importance of happiness, inner harmony and true friendship along with a dashing decline of the significance of technical development.
