Summary/Abstract: The paper analyzes the concept of the East in Dina Rubina’s post-Russian prose within the context of the problem of constructing a representative image of Israel. Being variously implemented in the author’s works, the concept of the East splits into two microconcepts: the Arab and Jewish East. The orientalist discourse becomes the representational sphere of the “foreign” East, whereas the “domestic” East is formed primarily through the discourse of everyday life.
