Summary/Abstract: The views of V.P. Buzeskul, the prominent antiquity researcher and historiographer, on the nationalistic and ideological concepts of the German classical scholarship in the 19th–early 20th century, which were relevant to the period of the First World War, are considered in the paper. Based on V.P. Buzeskul’s works, it is demonstrated how the Russian patriotic historian gets involved into the propagandist struggle under the war conditions by means of his works.
