MODEL OF THE LABOR MARKET DYNAMICS WITH HETEROGENEOUS LABOR FORCE

Summary/Abstract: The article presents a model of the labor market dynamics with heterogeneous employment structure, e.g. involving workers with different productivity depending on qualifications. This model allows to examine labor market flows and their dependencies on factors such as the minimum wage, whether it is imposed at all, and finally the structure of workers’ qualifications. Using dynamical systems to describe the issue enables the analysis of existence, type and stability of the labor market equilibrium. Construction of the theoretical model has been supplemented by computer simulations allowing for proposing and verifying hypotheses about the dynamics of employment and unemployment.
