Innovative enterprises in the process of building a knowledge-based economy

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this article is to define the role of innovative enterprises in the process of creating a knowledge-based economy in Poland. The study presents the main differences in the functioning of enterprises in the industrial economy and knowledge-based economy. Also characterized pillars on which to base the construction of knowledge-based economy in Poland. In addition, it determined the importance of innovative companies for the development of these pillars. Article completed deliberations on ways to support innovative companies as a key factor in the process of building a knowledge-based economy. The study reviews the subject literature, applying a descriptive method.
