DETERMINING THE PROFILE OF A PHYSICAL EDUCATION UNIVERSITY GRADUATE- STUDENTS’ VS. TEACHERS’ PERSPECTIVE

Summary/Abstract: The subject of the study pertains to the profile of physical education university graduate. Following the theme of the quality of education, the study attempts at diagnosing the required competencies of the graduate on the basis of opinions expressed by the main participants of the educational process- students and faculty members. The study encompassed 920 students graduating from undergraduate and graduate programmes. Opinions of 61 faculty members, employed in Józef Piłsudski University of Physical Education, were also incorporated into the study. Empirical data was collected by means of a random survey. Results of the analysis revealed significant differences of opinion as regards the level of required knowledge, skills and social competencies characterizing graduates of physical education university studies.
