Summary/Abstract: Creative economy is the result of interactions between the technology, art and commerce. Its basic characteristics reflect the current economic situation, structural changes in the world of economy and changes in the preferences of economic subjects. The presence of creative industries leads to increase of innovative strength and flexibility, which translates into an increasing number of self-employed people and generally has a positive impact on economic development of the region and the entire national community. The aim of this paper is to highlight the selected aspect of the development of creative industries – craft industries, regarding their existence in the digital world and the new changed conditions, despite the fact that they present the traditions and values that were created by human mind in the distant past.
