Summary/Abstract: When called upon to assume the duties and responsibilities of sovereignty, the Prince of Wales will inherit a kingdom in sharp contrast to the one his mother, the Queen succeeded to in 1952. Will he overcome the challenges and prove to be a skillful warden and manager of traditions in a modernized setting? In trying to decipher the identity of an individual, one senses a natural tension between the social identity and the personality of the individual, and this tension is often reflected in the language and the values of the individual. This type of tension defines the style or the way of being of an individual which, for a future monarch, is part of a long tradition which is not necessarily rigid.
