Summary/Abstract: Employees direct participation influences the shape of human capital; it not only motivates employees to project and implement organizational changes, but also determines organizational development. Superiors are especially significant in this process. Their attitude, style of management, and their being (or not being) a leader, influence the range, forms and intensity of employees participation. The goal of the article is to present the results of pilot research concerning the range, forms, intensity of employees direct participation, the superiors’ style of management, and verification whether companies use employees direct participation as a factor of organizational development. It was ascertained that there are mainly passive (cooperation) types of employees direct participation at the operational and tactical levels, and consultative style of management in the researched enterprises. The employees participation occurs at all phases of the decision-making process, but should be used better for efficient organizational development.
