Summary/Abstract: Polish economy is becoming more open and structurally better suited to the European economy. Progressive economic integration has naturally created a demand for a common European currency. The aim of this article is to show the essence of convergence with considerable emphasis placed on the opportunities to enjoy the benefits from the adoption of Euro which should lead to an increase in the pace of economic development. The method of literature studies and descriptive analysis have been used to show the way to the adoption of Euro and the present state of Polish preparations to meet the conditions of convergence.
