Summary/Abstract: The article presents selected methodological problems connected with the usage of the Gloger’s dictionary material by Karłowicz. The ways of making references to the Gloger’s dictionary entries and of quoting the Gloger’s dictionary definitions by Karłowicz are discussed. I also characterize the entries from Gloger’s dictionary and then investigate how they operate as a part of {Słownik gwar polskich} [‘Dictionary of Polish Dialects’]. The comparison of the two dictionaries shows that the Gloger’s dictionary as a part of {Słownik gwar polskich} [‘Dictionary of Polish Dialects’] is not true to the original. This situation is among other things determined by such factors as the inconsistency of the usage of the entries consisted of several different words, the omission of one-word entries, the lack of references to the Gloger’s dictionary as a source of many articles, the shortening of some definitions and the haphazard usage of the dictionary labels.
