An analysis of readiness of Polish local authorities for implementation of Balanced Scorecard

Summary/Abstract: The main purpose of this article is to analyse the readiness of Polish local authority organizations to develop and implement the Balanced Scorecard as a tool for monitoring the strategy. Balanced Scorecard model in the public sector requires the modification of its architecture, where stakeholders perspective is placed on the top of the scorecard. The author compares the missions, visions and strategic themes of 16 biggest cities in Poland in the adequacy of the design of the Balanced Scorecard’s perspectives.
