Summary/Abstract: The research regarding the cultural advancement of the Romanians were focused on topics selected by ideology and cultural stream dominant in that era were made. So the investigation of the activity of the bishop Vasile Moga (1811–1845) is such an example, especially the relationship with the professor Gheorghe Lazăr. A theologian originating from Sibiu, endowed with a visible spirit of innovation, a revolutionist of Napoleonic and other persuasion, Gheorghe Lazăr founded the Romanian school in Bucharest, in the midst of a teaching which, at that time, was assimilated into Greek education. Except that, in order to maximize the real and significant merits of the professor, negative facts from the bishop's life were amplified in a partial and mostly simplistic manner, and so he became the negative character, the bad man from the fairy tales. And much worse than that, he entered into an unacceptable obscurity.
