Expressive potential of news

Summary/Abstract: Contemporary news writing is a separate text style, both from an interpersonal and structural point of view. Our goal is to exploit the potential of communication effects both dimensions of news textuality present. We will deal with the relationship between certain semantic and organizational models to be found in contemporary news pieces and their opportunity to create certain types of meaning, or certain relations between sender, receiver and the values these texts render. We will see how these particular models used in organising the text, their recurrence and vocabulary options influence readers, challenge them or place them in relation to the text, as well as how they make readers accept the implications of this text or the social perspective dictating it.
