Summary/Abstract: The basic resource for the development of each economic sector are people employed in it. The demand for human capital, in particular its specific elements (competencies, intellectual agility, motivation) varies significantly with the development of a specific sector. The article draws attention to the fact that the development of sectors in contemporary economy significantly depends on having specific human capital and how it is managed. The concept of human capital is not a clear-cut concepts. That is why the article focuses on properties of human capital as well as the specifics of the sectors.
