Innovativeness of enterprises located in Polish technology parks – selected results of empirical research

Summary/Abstract: The innovativeness of SMEs might be regarded nowadays as a crucial factor defining their market position (in a microeconomic dimension) as well as a relevant determinant of the competitiveness of a domestic economy. Due to the important role of SMEs in GDP creation, the ability to prepare new products or implement new processes is of particular importance in the context of increasing competition on foreign markets. For this reason, supporting the innovativeness of SMEs is an important priority for public authorities and other stakeholders. One of the vital instruments of economic policy and innovation policy in particular are technological parks. As a result, the main research aim of this synthetic.. paper is to outline the scale of innovation of SMEs operating in Polish technology parks based on empirical studies, as well as embedding the results in the context of the existing scientific discourse in this area of research. The study used the method of systemic analysis and also the empirical method (PAPI) for primary data collections. The obtained initial and partial results suggest the limited scale of SMEs innovativeness in technology parks in Poland and thus the limited efficiency of such parks in Poland in the defined area.
