Summary/Abstract: Contribution from capital expenditure propels business economic growth. The scale and pace of investment can also shift employment structures of a given enterprise. Global financial crisis caused the rate of economic growth to slow down and GDP values of most countries to fall abruptly in 2009. At that time, the rate of economic growth in Poland was indeed observed to have decelerated, affecting the scale of capital expenditure and thus, causing changes in employment trends. Considering the complex interplay between these two variables, however, the impact of the EU funds received in years 2007–2013 on key factors driving the economic growth should be reviewed. The following analysis is, thus, aimed at presenting trends of change in key economic growth factors: capital investment and employment, basing on the Polish economy perspective in years 2007–2013.
